And if team or individual sports aren’t your thing, but you want to stay physically active, check out our facilities for ways to get a personal workout. Lift weights, run, stretch, swim—and much more—to help maintain your physical and mental health.

Spark your Cougar pride

Discover the thrilling, Go Cougs spirit created by Cougar student-athletes as they tackle foes from the Pac-12 conference and beyond in football, volleyball, soccer, basketball, tennis, and 9 other sports.

Game days are a statewide celebration of Cougar pride you won’t want to miss. Join your crimson-clad friends to cheer on the Cougs while creating memories and forging friendships to last a lifetime.

All WSU intercollegiate sports activities are based on the Pullman campus, and students and other WSU community members also often hit the road to support the Cougs away as well.

Student sports pass

WSU students can purchase a sports pass that admits them to all regular season home events in football, volleyball, women’s soccer and basketball, and men’s basketball and baseball from August through May.

The intramural sports program provides many competitive and recreational sports leagues, tournaments, and special events for WSU students, regardless of skill level.

Go head-to-head in intense competition against your WSU friends in sports ranging from basketball and dodgeball to sand volleyball and 4-on-4 soccer or opt for competition at a friendly level for those new to various sports.

That’s just a sampling of the sports WSU students compete in at the club level against students from other area colleges and universities.

Club sports on the Pullman campus are student-run groups that operate with the guidance of University Recreation staff to provide competitive and enjoyable programs for students. Each club raises funds and arranges its own competitions.

Swim some laps, lift weights, circle the track, explore the outdoors—however you like to keep fit, WSU has recreation and fitness centers for you. Outdoor equipment, from skis to kayaks, is available for rent on campus as well.

The Student Rec Center is a great place to start your recreation and fitness journey. This popular spot on campus is also a great way to spend time with classmates or make new friends.

The official student fan club of the Cougs drives fan passion and pride at WSU athletic events.

Football game-day tailgating

Cougar football game days in Pullman are a town-wide celebration. One highlight is the tailgating that fills the area next to Martin Stadium with off-the-charts displays of Cougar pride, lick-smacking grilled treats, and diehard Coug fans of all ages.

Cougar marching band

There’s nothing like a rousing edition of the WSU fight song to energize Coug fans, and the Cougar marching band does it better than anyone else, providing unparalleled support and entertainment for Cougar athletic teams and their fans.
