Here for our students

Dear faculty and staff,

The start of the semester is underway! I love this time of year, when the students arrive back in Pullman and the campus is abuzz with the excitement of a new year. It’s also a renewed opportunity to remember why we’re here – to support our students. At the core of our mission as an institution of higher education is to provide the next generation of Cougs with hard and soft skills to succeed both at WSU and beyond.

As we enter this new year, we’ll find that many of our new students are experiencing the challenges of leaving home and beginning college for the first time. All of our students will be here with their own individual experiences, aspirations, and challenges. It’s important to realize that every one of us, regardless of our role, can have an impact on a student’s life. We’re here to help them have the best experience possible at WSU Pullman.

Supporting students also means listening to each other. Once a month, I’ll host a small coffee gathering of faculty, staff, students, and community members at the Ida Lou Anderson House to share reflections on and visions for WSU Pullman. Please keep an eye out for an invitation to join one of these gatherings.

For visions you would prefer to share virtually or anonymously, please visit the opportunity box form. I look forward to hearing from you.

Go Cougs!
Dave
